I'm Asian and a BookWooormmm
Friday, August 12, 2011
I went out to buy school supplies today. (Which means I'm starting to acknowledge the fact that summer's ending.) I was totally disappointed by the lack of amount of 3 ring binders. How hard is it to find a 3 ring binder with a nice color and no words at all? Why is it that Asian items have to be designed with English words that, together, make absolutely no sense at all? For example you see phrases like "I make apple pie for us to eat" and "Sweet love" on notebooks and folders and pencil boxes. It screws everything up. I also planned on getting a schedule planner, since I've got to start keeping track of homework in high school, but then words like "Hello Lucky" and "Miss your arms" are scribbled all over on the covers. It is truly frustrating and annoying and most of all, depressing to see how little Taiwan has improved.
Not that I have anything against Taiwan. Except for the fact that it's dirty and polluted and ugly, both the citizens as well as the country itself; It's a swell place to be.
I am Asian by the way so yeah.
But I'm an Asian who speaks English who is also ranting on about the grammar mistakes Asian people make so I'm guessing that earns me a few nerd points. Mhmm. I'm also a bookworm, which reminds me of the dream I dreamt last night. I dreamed that I was walking across a field with one of my friends and all of a sudden blue worms started popping out from the soil. It was anything gross, since they didn't squirm around or anything. You could only see their heads unless you pulled one out. So then my friend pulled one out and started chasing me with it. I'm terrified of bugs, especially the ones with no feet, so you can only imagine my horror and disgust as she started shaking the big worm at me. I woke up panting.
Anyway, back to books. I read Handle With Care by Jodi Picoult recently and she's become one of my top Authors, right next to Karen Kingsbury and Ted Dekker. I also read Dear John, The Notebook, and The Last Song all whom are by Nicholas Sparks, who I also respect, but I'm not that big of a fan of sappy romances. I only enjoy romances when drama's mixed in. :)
Another Korean drama that I'm currently addicted to... drum rolllll.... HEARTSTRINGS!!! It's so cute I think I could die. :)Labels: Books, Heartstrings, Sad, School, Stupid Asian Designs, Summer's Over

It's Almost Over...
Sunday, August 7, 2011
Guess I won't be blogging quite often anymore. School's starting next week and I'm a nervous wreck. I'M SO NERVOUS IT'S NOT EVEN FUNNY. High school's all about grades, social ladders, and other scary stuff like how to navigate from classroom to classroom and how to RUN IN FITNESS.
I'm sad that this is almost over for me. And you. You'll no longer wake up wondering if Simply Lois wrote a new post or ate a few pea snacks or gained a few kg. Not that you usually do. Guess it's just my loss, not yours.
I'm going out tomorrow for school supplies. Then maybe a mirror or print a few pictures for my locker.
I hear that the first day of school is just cleaning out classrooms and getting textbooks. No sweat, I suppose.
Except for the fact that I may make a fool of myself while doing so, and that Pineapple will be there and that I have no idea what to expect.Labels: Sad, Summer's Over

Eating is My Hobby
Monday, August 1, 2011
Good afternoon, my dear Dim Sums. How's life?
My latest obsession(s):
Macaroons Pea snacks Pudding
The pea snack thing is very Asian, and I never thought I'd say this, but it's actually quite satisfying. It's salty, crunchy, and tastes like pea. [Insert inappropriate joke here ;D]
I've always loved pudding, so that's nothing new.
Macaroons are absolutely delicious. I used to think they were to sweet (imagine me thinking that-gah) but now I adore them. Especially the white kinds. I've got a thing going on for white.
If I just had a magic pill that would I could take and never gain weight-ever-again, I'd eat everything I'd get my hands on. I love eating. Too bad I can only do it three times a day. No snacks for me anymore, I woke up this morning and I had gained .8 kg. Horrifying, I know.
Never thought I'd admit this either, but swimming is actually helping me. By the time school starts I expect myself to be a slim 45 kg. Still working on it. And no, I'm not telling you my weight now that's just too embarrassing. Well. That just makes you think worse doesn't it. I'm nothing above 50. There.
Just yesterday Mom and I went out to get beanbags for my room. I chose a chocolate colored one and Hunter got a lime green. I'm naming mine fudge.
Luv you all,
Lois

It's Been a While...
Thursday, July 28, 2011
Hi. So the last few weeks have been great. I've been spending my time in Korea with family and friends. Shopping for more face masks and having a blast being lectured by my parents.
I finally finished cleaning my room last night. Within all the unpacking and clothes-folding, I managed to clean out the entire closet as well. Talk about being productive.
I usually detest bloggers who post a bunch of photos and expect readers to understand the story within them. But I can now relate to how they feel. I am now really tired and lazy and am only blogging for your sakes anyway (just kidding, I love you guys) so here's a tour of my room. Well. It's more like watching me clean up, but anyhow:
<--- So here's my bathroom sink. It was even messier than before if you can imagine that. Notice all the face masks I purchased in Korea? And that marvelous bottle (though it doesn't look very intriguing in this picture) of Etude BB Cream? And.. Uh.. my razor? Yup. Moving on.
And here we can see the desk of a very messy person. You may notice a suffering banana plush in the back (left) of the photo. Two lamps, because one of them is really unpredictable. Hair gel. A lunchbox where I stored my eye contacts (please note that I just came back from Korea, here.) Books. A suffering lionness-underneath the suffering banana. Nail polish, a comb, and a pile of cardigans. And two shopping bags from Etude. Loooovely.
<--- And over here we've got my closet cleaning in process. You can see folded clothes (hey at least they're folded alright?), puffy skirts, jeans, drawers, blegh. This was hard work. I think I inhaled a bit to much dust at this point
One pillow. My Longchamp baggie. Other bags that were too big to squeeze in my closet. Socks, winter hats, scarves. Oh, and this is my window seat/bench if you don't already know. I wonder how Simba feels about his mother living with me. D'you see that little brown bag beside my blue lunchbox (once again, I use it to store my eye contacts.)? That, my dears, was Rachel's present. Her birthday was tomorrow and I had gotten her sunglasses at Forever 21. In Korea. Can you believe that they have Forever 21 as well as Hollister and Abercrombie and Aero and all that?! But we don't?! Poo.
And here, my dears, is the finished product. Mission complete!Labels: Bathroom, Cleaning, Closet, Pictures, Room, Tired

7.11 Jen Hao!
Monday, July 11, 2011
Mommy dearest recently hired herself a cleaning lady to do the chores around the house. I'm fine with it, since I am constantly reminded of how unhelpful I am and how she wishes she had a better daughter around. Hold on a second, I'm going to turn the AC on extra high so that the lady stops sweating. She kind of smells. Like, real bad. No offense to any ladies with BO but you have heard of deodorant right? Yes. Use some. So now we've got two 40 year olds in the house. JKAY. My Mom's 39 and always will be. Apparently. I don't like her though, the cleaning lady that is, not my Mom. She doesn't clean much. Just mops the floor and does the laundry. Doesn't even wash toilets the right way. And she sprays water everywhere. Might I add that I hate walking on wet bathroom floors. It's icky.
Anyway I want to pause a moment and talk about my Mom. She's like, the best person ever. You know how they say "Daddy's Girl?" Well, I'm a Momma's Girl. Which sounds really weird because I've only heard of Momma's Boy. And she treats me like a queen and calls me pretty when I'm really not. :) I love you Mom! (Hopefully she doesn't read this or else she's never going to get off of my neck for being so gushy.)

Today's a special day. It's 7/11! I wonder if 7.11's doing anything special (sales, discount, et cetera) since 7/11 is 7.11. Confused? Yes, me too.

Let's move on...

Public Pools and My Phone IS NOT WORKING.
Thanks for giving me 30 followers, guys. What intrigued you? My awesome writing skills or my pretty blog layout or just the fact that I'm into Korean stuff and could be Korean? Sorry to bust your bubble, but I'm not Korean, and I will never plan on being a Korean. I do plan on going to Korea though. HEHEHEHEHE. I'm so excited! July 20th!! Only 10 days away!!
Enough about me. Though it usually is.
Hunter's been taking swimming lessons and (what's to expect) Mom's making me go too. Not to the lessons, just to the pool where I can "exercise" without sweating. PAH. (I almost wrote "exercise without swearing" hahaha that's really funny.) Anyway I wanna rant on public pools. How much dirtier can they get? I mean, take their changing rooms for example. Excuse me for sounding like a priss, but honestly. I could spend a day in there cleaning--and no, I'm not volunteering--and still have tons of work left to do.
I wanted to put pics on here and stuff. But I can't because my stupid darn phone ain't working.
Goodnight.Labels: Exercise my butt, Public Pools, Stupid Phone, swimming

I'm Hungry
Tuesday, July 5, 2011
I've made a song. Sing it to the tune of Do Mi So +Do +Do So Mi Do. Or C E G +C +C G E C.
The words--lyrics are a bit of an overstatement--are: I'm so hungryy I'm so hungryy. Change notes within each syllable. Thank you very much.
Anyway, I'm bored and hungry and still watching Flames of Desire, since I stopped watching for two days and am a bit behind. I went to the mall yesterday with Mommy and bought an adorable pair of shoes and a stunning handbag that I was thrilled to find on sale.
So here you go. Isn't it alluringly and breathtakingly gorgeous? And it's so me! LOL. This is turning out to be a very very girly post. My sincere apologies.
